DO Lectures 2025

In July 2025, I was invited to speak at The DO Lectures in west Wales.

My brief was dauntingly simple: 'Give the talk you've always wanted to do - the one that scares you because it reveals the very essence of who you are.'

So I did.

I called it Confessions of a Money Obsessive.

I told the story of how, for much of my business life, I was obsessed with the numbers - growth, turnover and profit. And how my thinking changed when I came to understand that a successful business can be about much more than money.

That led me to The Quadruple Bottom Line: Purpose, People, Planet and Profit - and to a very different way of thinking about what business is for.

I shared my story warts and all.

About The DO Lectures

The DO Lectures is an intimate annual gathering of entrepreneurs, creatives and change-makers, founded by David and Clare Hieatt in 2008 and held on a remote former dairy farm overlooking Cardigan Bay in West Wales. Around 100 founders come together for three days of talks, conversations and ideas. Every talk is filmed and shared, giving this deliberately small gathering an extraordinary global reach. 

Over the years, more than 400 speakers have taken to the DO stage, and the talks have been viewed over 150 million times online. The speakers are chosen less for status than for having an honest story worth telling - which is perhaps why being asked to give mine felt so special.
